Police confirm NO ARRESTS as assault investigations on Teddington High Street escalate
The search continues for the perpetrators of an assault carried out on Teddington High Street.
Police responded to a call at 12:41am on the morning of Monday 15 July following an altercation near The Castlebar pub.
Those attending the scene found a man who had sustained injuries to his face who was later taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be serious.
In response, the Met cordoned off parts of the High Street around Wade's Lane, taping off local businesses Jude the Obscure and Riverhomes alongside The Castlebar.
Officers are guarding the crime scene while the incident is escalated to the Met's local Criminal Investigation Department.
Enquiries continue, with no arrests made at this time.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at around 12:40am on Monday 15 July to High Street, Teddington to reports of an assault.
"Officers attended the scene and found a man suffering from facial injuries. He was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be serious.
"It is understood the male was assaulted by another person at the pub where he was socialising.
"An investigation has been launched by local CID officers and enquiries are ongoing. There have been no arrests."
Teddington Nub News acknowledges it mistakenly announced the arrest of a man for GBH on London Road following a miscommunication with Met Police sources. This arrest was for a similar incident that also took place Monday morning in central Twickenham.
