Phew what a scorcher! Sunshine images from the Teddington Riviera!

A significant heatwave warning was issued by the Met Office as temperatures in Teddington soared to 32 degrees.

Hundreds of sunbathers and family picnics lined the towpath from Teddington to Kingston with teenagers jumping from the Teddington Lock foot bridge despite the No Diving warnings and the unpredictable depth of the river.

Teddington Harbour has issued repeated warnings about the dangers of jumping into the river because of hidden debris and the varying depths of the river.

Hundreds of swimmers, canoeists and small boats turned the stretch of river into a holiday hotspot for the day despite social distance measures. One group of lads held their own party with a forest of bottles aboard from their boat trip.

Local weather is expected to be similar tomorrow (thursday) but with a warning of thunderstorms on Friday morning.
