New partial road closure to go ahead in Bushy Park

Royal Parks are trialling a new strategy to deal with traffic in Bushy Park.

Currently around 60% of visitors that come to the park arrive by car.

Traffic will be restricted with a trial partial road closure of Chesnut Avenue.

Royal Parks said: "When the park reopens to motor vehicles, we will maintain a restriction that prevents the park being used as a cut through.

"By closing the link between Teddington and Hampton Court Gates to traffic, we will create new park space for visitors within the centre of the park and will eliminate all commuting motor vehicle traffic.

"Visitors will still be able to drive to the park and

the parking provision will be unaffected."

There are also new movement strategies for other parks across London such as Richmond Park and Hyde Park.
