Lockdown: What you can still do in Teddington

The third national lockdown has now started across the whole of England.

Obviously this is a huge blow for businesses as well as parents, who have seen schools shut until at least February half term.

However a bright spot is that if vaccinations goes well the most vulnerable people should all be vaccinated by mid-February.

So what you currently do under the current rules?

You may leave the home to:

Shop for basic necessities, for you or a vulnerable person

Go to work, or provide voluntary or charitable services, if you cannot reasonably do so from home

Exercise with your household (or support bubble) or one other person, this should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area.

Meet your support bubble or childcare bubble where necessary, but only if you are legally permitted to form one

Seek medical assistance or avoid injury, illness or risk of harm (including domestic abuse)

Attend education or childcare - for those eligible

Colleges as well as primary and secondary schools remain open for key worker children and the most vulnerable.

Only students studying critical degrees such as medicine will return to in-person university studies.

People are also encouraged to stay within the local area - so in other words Teddington is you oyster.

Stay safe and hopefully we can see these measures rolled back at the earliest safe opportunity.
