Polling stations open for London Assembly and mayoral elections today, 2 May.

If you're voting in person, you should check your polling card, which you should have received in the post if you're on the electoral register.

The polling card will also tell you which polling station you can vote at. However, you don't need to bring it, and you can still vote if you've lost your polling card.

Polling stations will be open until 10pm this evening. You can also check where your nearest station is on the Richmond Council website here.

When you arrive at the polling station, you'll need to give your name and address, and to show your photo ID. This can be a passport, a driving licence, a blue badge, and more. Check the full list of eligible IDs if you're unsure.

You'll then be given a ballot paper, on which you can cast your vote.

The vote will be counted over the next two days at stations around the capital. South West London's count and declaration of results will take place at St Mary's University in Twickenham.

Around six million voters across the capital will be electing one of 25 London Assembly representatives and a Mayor of London today.

The results of this election will determine how London will be governed from City Hall for the next four years.
