Adams says she has been "helping people and their pet dogs on an individual basis for about five years and started the puppy training classes last September".

She added: "My mission is to keep dogs out of rescues and make our community a safe place where people and dogs can coexist harmoniously.

"Because I was seeing so many dogs with problems as a result of poor breeding, lack of early socialisation and little training, I realised that I could help even more, if I got in there early, at the puppy stage."

Adams says she got into dog training because of her own dog, "like most trainers".

She added: "He's a Springador and let's just say, he had many needs. It was sink or swim for me, so I learnt as much as I could about dog training, canine behaviour and managing relationships between people and their pet dogs.

"I already had a background in training adults and stakeholder dialogue, so becoming a Dog Training Instructor was a natural progression."
