Lib Dems win South West GLA seat while Khan secures record third term as Mayor of London

The 2024 London Elections has come to an end with Sadiq Khan staying on as Mayor for a record third term and Richmond Councillor, Gareth Roberts, joins the London Assembly as South West's representative.
The South West Constituency saw a total of 206,109 verified ballot papers on polling day (2 May) with a turn out of 45%.
Overall, the capital saw 41% of Londoners vote in this year's elections, with 2,484,432 verified votes.

As for South West's choice for Mayor of London, it was Labour candidate Sadiq Khan who edged out Tory rival Susan Hall with the majority of votes.

For South West's Greater London Assembly (GLA) member, residents from the boroughs of Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow elected Richmond Liberal Democrat, Cllr Roberts, to represent them.
After winning he said: "I am now the duly elected representative for the South West Constituency on the London Assembly
"The first ever Assembly Constituency for the Lib Dems
"Thank you all those who voted for me
"And thank you to all the candidates who fought a decent, fair election."
