Leading Teddington law firm announces 'new and modern' rebranding as it approaches 300th birthday
LEADING Teddington law firm Morrisons Solicitors has changed its name in a "new and modern" rebranding ahead of its 300th birthday.
It will now be known as Morr & Co. following a period of major growth over the past twenty years, including recent mergers with South East law firms Harrops & Hepburn Solicitors and Wheelers Solicitors.
The business, founded in Surrey in 1729, now has eight offices across South East England including in Teddington and Wimbledon.
A spokesperson for Morr & Co said the firm had been known affectionately as Morr Law for years and chose its new name to represent that familiarity.
The name also recognises the firm's history, as 'Morrison' has appeared in the name since 1812 when George Morrison joined the company - while the '& Co' symbolises the unification of the brands and the talented individuals across the business.
Paul Harvey, Morr & Co's Managing Partner, said: "Uniting the firm under a new and modern brand is very exciting for us.
"Morr & Co feels like a natural progression for the business. There's a familiarity about it and a connection to our past and our rich heritage, but it's also progressive and takes us into the future.
"I passionately believe that everybody in the firm has a very important part to play, and the "& Co" represents just that.
"We're in this together. We are a team. We share our core values."
Morr & Co has long supported both individuals and businesses with their legal requirements with the depth of knowledge, capabilities and resources of a large firm, and the approachability of a local practice.
It currently has 19 Partners and a further 153 staff, with offices in Redhill, Wimbledon, Teddington, Oxted, Camberley, Farnborough, Ash Vale and Fleet.
Lily Meyer, a Partner in the Commercial Property team, works between the Teddington and Wimbledon offices.
She said: "Whilst the visual part of our business has changed, I want to assure everyone that there will be no changes to the services that clients receive nor to our commitment to supporting those in the surrounding areas.
"We hope that our clients and communities will come along on this journey with us, and see us as a modern, progressive law firm, who are moving forward, and responding and adapting to change, to provide the services they need from us today, and in the future."
The firm promises to continue playing an active part in the communities in which it operates, supporting local charities and causes - including in Teddington.
In addition, it will remain heavily involved with its regional business communities.
"This is part of who we are and that won't be changing." Lily added.
