Helicopter called as person is taken to major trauma centre after fall

A person suffered a potentially serious injury in Twickenham and has been taken to a major trauma centre for treatment.

It happened shortly after 3pm on Wednesday, August 12.

London Air Ambulance landed its helicopter on Twickenham Green and police, fire and ambulance crews also attended.

There have been unconfirmed reports on social media that the injured person was a builder who fell from a roof.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 3.21pm today to reports of a fall at a residential address in Saville Road, Twickenham."

"We dispatched a number of resources including an ambulance crew, a medic in a fast response car and an incident response officer.

"We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance."

"We treated a patient at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre."
