FIVE players from Twickenham rugby club Harlequins have been selected as part of the new England squad ahead of the Six Nations tournament next month.

Alex Dombrandt, Joe Marchant, Joe Marler and Marcus Smith have been named in the 36-strong squad following involvement in the 2021 internationals.

Harlequins centre Luke Northmore, who has no senior England caps yet, has also been called-up for the team led by Eddie Jones.

Quins praised the 24-year-old for "a standout year" at the club, which won the Rugby Union Premiership trophy last year.

The rising rugby star opened up about his journey from Cornish baker to potential England star in an interview with the Mail on Sunday two days ago.

He said Quins were "pretty terrifying" to join at first and described the Premiership victory as "surreal."

Northmore and his four teammates will head to Brighton next Monday for a week-long training camp.

Their first Six Nations fixture, against Scotland, is on February 5.

Two of the tournament matches will be held at Twickenham: England vs Wales on February 26 and England vs Ireland on March 12.
