Teddington's popular High Street pub The Kings Arms has been renamed THE CASTLEBAR, Nub News can reveal.

The pub, formerly named The Clockhouse, was only turned into the Kings Arms in March 2021.

The eye-catching bright orange pub signage is unmissable and will come as relief to many local drinkers, who feared yet another pub could face closure like The Builders Arms in nearby Field Lane.

The pub has another venue with the same name in West Ealing.

The Clockhouse opened in 2008 but was closed down during the pandemic. The proximity of the former Kings Arms and the King's Head just down the road often caused confusion.

The pub reverted to its historic name, The Kings Arms in March 2021, the High Street boozer opened as the Clockhouse in 2008.

The new pub is just part of the ever changing face of Teddington with a new restaurant set to be opened called Marez Brasserie, replacing the old Wimpy bar in Broad Street, a British Heart Foundation charity shop where the Sweat Shop used to be and Planet Organic, due to open on the former site of Johnsons Shoes, also on Broad Street.
