Hampton Vape Boss in Hampton Village previously applied for an alcohol licence only to have its application rejected by the council. However, the vape shop's owners has now reapplied for an alcohol licence to run from 7am, and locals are not happy.
Residents are in uproar and have written to the council to ask them not to approve the application.
A petition set was up yesterday, 9 October, by local Claire Biagioni against the site's application.
The petition already has already has 162 signatures from residents.
Biagioni told Teddington Nub News: "Local residents are extremely concerned about the potential influence on young children and teenagers.
"Not only are we unhappy about the establishment becoming a Vape Shop, but it will increase the probability of underage drinking and vaping in the area.
"This will then increase the risk of antisocial behaviour that compromises Hampton village and its community."
Biagioni asks that more residents sign her petition, which you can sign here.
She said: "This is a significant issue that should not be taken lightly.
"We urge the relevant authorities to consider our plea and act in favour of the long-term wellbeing of our community, by denying the alcohol license to this vape shop in Hampton Village."
