South Downs Leisure (SDL) has taken over the operational management of Hampton Pool, from yesterday (Monday, 2 June) following the award of contract by Hampton Pool Trust.

This transition marks a "significant milestone" in SDL's ongoing mission to enhance community recreational services and brings together "two organisations with a shared ethos of community engagement and environmental sustainability," the charity say.

SDL believe the move reflects its mutual commitment to enhancing opportunities for the community to engage with health, wellbeing and recreation services.

As part of this transition, SDL will continue to uphold the standards set by YMCA St Paul's Group while introducing innovative practices to further benefit pool users and the wider community.

Group Chief Executive of South Downs Leisure, Duncan Anderson, said: "We are thrilled to expand our community impact by managing Hampton Pool.

"Our aim is to ensure a seamless transition that not only maintains the high standards of service but also introduces new initiatives to enrich the user experience.

"We strongly believe that our track record in sustainability will contribute significantly to the ongoing success of Hampton Pool."

Chair of Hampton Pool Trust, Andrew Gill, added: "We are delighted that South Downs Leisure will be taking on the operation of Hampton Pool.

"SDL are an organisation with a vision and values well aligned with those of Hampton Pool Trust and we look forward to working with them to ensure continuation of Hampton Pool's high-quality operation.

"SDL bring extensive experience to bear at a time of significant change for Hampton Pool as we continue to work towards a significant development of the swimming pool building."
