Hairdressers and barbers are sharpening their scissors in Teddington in readiness for a massive wave of customers on Super Saturday, July 4.

Hair salons and barbers have been shut since the end of March but now can finally reopen with many people desperate for a trim.

Both Headmasters and Toni & Guy In Teddington have confirmed that they will be re-opening on Super Saturday. Gentlemen's hair stylists, Dapper in Church Street will also re-open.

Toni & Guy commented on their Instagram:""Hip hop hooray ....... we are free to be creative again.

"Please be patient with us as we have a very large waiting list that we are systematically working our way through. We will be in touch."

Headmasters, however, will not be taking telephone bookings until Saturday 27th June.

Style Lounge which has salons in both Teddington and Wandsworth will also be re-opening on Super Saturday - and you can book right now.

Shape Hair Design and Elements also both have plans to reopen on July 4th.

New health and safety regulations including protective gear, hand sanitisers have also been imposed as well as recommendation of 'no talking' to stop the spread of any virus.

Social distancing of at least one metre will be present throughout the salon from the queue outside to how far apart the hairdressers must be.

Customers need to book and should turn up exactly on time rather than spend time in a waiting area.

Tills should have perspex screens and the government recommends keeping windows and doors open for ventilation.

Face coverings are not mandatory however hot drinks while having your haircut are out.

Hairdressers are encouraged to use disposable equipment and sanitise chairs as much as possible.

Salons will also keep records of all customers who have entered the premises for the last 21 days in order to help with the government's track and trace efforts.
