From Teddington to Provence - read the amazing story of MIRABEAU - the award-winning wine
The Mirabeau Story:
THE FAMILY FROM TEDDINGTON WHO MOVED TO PROVENCE TO REALISE A DREAM AND SET UP AN AWARD-WINNING VINEYARD.
The Mirabeau story is one of following a dream and the pursuit of a deeply held passion for wine.
In 2009, after years of dreaming and scheming, Jeany and Stephen Cronk made the decision to sell their house in Teddington (Clarence Road) in exchange for the blue skies and sunshine of Provence.
With three young children in tow (the eldest two were at Twickenham Prep School) and barely a word of French between them, they held hands and leapt into the unknown.
Moving to the charming hillside village of Cotignac and having rented a house, they put the kids in the local primary school and set about finding the best wine growers to work with to produce their first vintage of Rosé wine.
With help from an old friend and Master of Wine, Angela Muir, they made the highly rated Mirabeau Classic in 2010 (in a screwcap, which caused outrage in Provence at the time!), that was subsequently sold to Waitrose and got them started on their journey to becoming one of Britain's favourite Rosé brands.
Whilst they threw themselves into local life, the Mirabeau wine business went from strength to strength, building a loyal following of customers, and while the UK became their most important market, exports to many countries followed.
Armed with big ambitions to make a world-class rosé wine, and willing to challenge established wisdom, over the past 10 years they have gone on to launch a further 6 rosés, including a beautiful sparkling rosé as well as more innovative products such as Prêt-à-Porter rosé in a can and the recently launched Mirabeau Rosé Gin.

The wines have been consistently rated amongst the world's best Rosés, winning a bevy of medals and awards and sold the world over in some of the best retailers, bars and restaurants.
Making a great product, however, was only part of the equation for Stephen and Jeany as the wine world is highly competitive and it was important that they could stand out of the crowd.
The digital media revolution has enabled them to communicate directly with their customers and they've established a dedicated international following for the brand across Instagram and Facebook.
Last year marked the tenth anniversary of Stephen and Jeany moving to Provence to realise their dream of creating an exciting wine brand.
Now selling in 50 countries and with a prized range of wines, they have achieved their ultimate ambition of buying a beautiful wine estate near Saint Tropez, now renamed Domaine Mirabeau.
In fact, you can rent one of the houses on the estate if you'd like a Provençal wine getaway.
