It's going to be a very high tide in Teddington this afternoon.

A flood alert, meaning flooding is possible, has been issued for the River Thames from Hampton and Thames Ditton to Teddington.

High tide will be around 2-2.30pm today (Tuesday, December 29).

The Environment Agency said: "Property flooding is not currently expected.

"River levels are forecast to rise on the River Thames as a result of high tides coinciding with high river levels."

It added: "We expect river levels to remain high over the next few days.

"We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are operating weirs to reduce flood risk and in the area clearing weed and trash screens."
