Stand-up paddleboard lessons are to made available next month at Teddington's riverside pub, The Anglers, Nub News can reveal today.
The exciting new scheme is an extension of the paddle boarding experience offered at Richmond.
The organisers told Nub News: "From our new base at The Anglers in Teddington site we can paddle on either the tidal or non-tidal Thames. This is a great part of the river for beginners as it's quiet, flat and calm.
"Experienced paddlers will love it too as there are loads of islands, inlets and sights to explore."
It's possible to hire a paddle board or a kayak for a two hour rental session. People must be EXPERIENCED paddle boarders but coaching sessions are also available.
Boards, paddles and buoyancy aids are also provided as well as a brief introduction to the rules of the river. Children must be at least 13 and accompanied by an adult.
Paddlers agree that they will not go upstream of Teddington Lock or downstream of Twickenham Bridge, and will follow the rules of the river as explained to them by Paddle Richmond staff on site.
All paddlers must wear a buoyancy aid whilst hiring boards. You will be responsible for the safe return (in good condition) of all equipment rented to you, and understand that you will be charged for any damage or loss of equipment.
Dogs can accompany paddle boarders by prior arrangement but no dog lifejackets are available.
