Friedel Buecking is a man who works with a chainsaw making rocking pieces, abstract and figurative sculptures as well as furniture.

You may have seen his work in central London on Gabriel's Wharf, near the Oxo tower, where he has been a resident artist for over 30 years.

Many people used to nostalgically visit the site as they

would have played on his rocking horses when they were children.

Just before we went into lockdown Friedel was asked to remove most of his work as the management have plans to develop Gabriel's Wharf and stage events there.

Now most of Friedel's pieces have been removed to his woodland working site at Send near Guildford.

However his girlfriend Sue Ribbans, has found a new place to display the sculptures - in her front garden!

The sculptures can be found now on Blandford Road - right here in Teddington.

Sue says "We have always done the Richmond Open Studio Event together so it seemed like natural thing to do."

The house is situated very near the Blandford Road gate to Bushy Park.

Some of the sculpture is now being painted which is something Friedel has contemplated doing for some time and the lockdown has given him an

opportunity to develop this.

Friedel and Sue both belong to The Surrey Sculpture Society who plan to hold an exhibition in the Landmark Centre in Teddington from Friday 26 February to

Sunday 7 March 2021.

Friedel's work is all for sale and can be viewed at 75 Blandford Road Teddington.

Plus you can enjoy a great walk in Bushy Park while you are there.
