A rare glimpse of the six eggs waiting to hatch in the cordoned off swan's nest near the Leg of Mutton pond in Bushy Park earlier today.

The swans took a break from their guard duty but stayed close enough to stretch their necks with a menacing warning for the crows lingering nearby.

The eggs can take anything up to 42 days to hatch and the swans usually lay between 4 and 8 eggs each time.
