Reports emerged yesterday of a deer being hit and killed in Bushy Park.

Royal Parks have now updated us on the situation.

Phil Edwards, Bushy Park's manager, said: "We can confirm that a deer was found injured in Bushy Park and sadly had to be put down.

"We believe it was hit by a vehicle but there were no witnesses.

"If you see an accident please call the on-call Police for Richmond and Bushy Parks on 07920 586546."

This comes after a series of controversial incidents in neighbouring Richmond Park.

The incident comes after the deer were featured on The One Show.

The appearance reinforced that you must stay 50m away from the wild deer.
