Climate Chat to host event in Hampton Hill next week

A new community led initiative, focusing on positive changes people can make in their own lives and locally, is starting this month.
Climate Chat aims to bring people together, to collaborate and learn about projects happening on our doorstep and consider how we might all make a difference through either getting involved (volunteering time, knowledge or skills) or making a change in our own lives.
The first Climate Chat will take place on Wednesday, 20 April at St James Church in Hampton Hill.
At the event, Climate Chat will welcome three local speakers discussing how their projects and efforts are making a difference and rising to the challenges of Climate Change and protecting our natural environment.
Attendees at the first event will hear about the Hampton Heath Conservation Project, Sustainable Fashion and the Circular Economy, Food Waste, and Food Poverty.
Monica Saunders, a local resident who is working with St James Church said: '' Climate Chat in Richmond began at St Lukes Church, Kew, a couple of years ago.
"Drawing on their experience, we decided to bring the idea to the west side of the borough.
"Many of our churches have signed up to the Eco Initiative which has, as one aim, to raise awareness about Climate Change and engage with the community.
"It seemed a great opportunity to collaborate on shared aims and work together. Derek Winterburn, St James' vicar, has been incredibly enthusiastic and supportive of this initiative''
