The Environment Agency (EA) has updated a flood alert around the River Thames, west of Hampton Court.

Updated this morning, 21 February, the alert warns of flooding "especially in the Shepperton to Molesey areas".

Flooding will likely continue as the EA expects "further heavy rainfall" tomorrow, 22 February.

Disruption to roads low-lying land around Hampton Court, Walton-on-Thames, and Sunbury is expected to continue, causing a knock-on effect on traffic in nearby Teddington and Kingston-upon-Thames.

Property flooding is still not anticipated by the EA.

The alert continues to advise locals to "avoid using low lying footpaths," and those close to bodies of water.

There are still concerns that the river levels will "continue to rise" as the Thames adjusts to recent rainfall.

This comes after the Thames Barrier was closed for three consecutive days last week, marking its 214th use according to Environment Agency worker and flood forecaster Alan of @AlanBarrierEA.
