Broad Street's Christmas Tree was vandalised at around 2am this morning, according to reports on social media.

Footage displays two or three men pulling the lights, before taking the star off the top of the tree.

The alleged vandals then throw the star on the road repeatedly, and standing in the middle of it.

One person can be heard saying: "F- the star...Give me the f-ing star, man. I want it."

The Christmas tree was placed on Broad Street as part of Teddington Lights Up on 23 November this year.

Richmond Council Leader, Gareth Roberts, retweeted the post, stating: "Good God above. Anybody know them?"

After a police van arrived, the alleged vandals seem to walk away from the scene.

The case is now active; Teddington Met Police have been contacted for further updates.
