A body was pulled from Teddington Lock yesterday.

A Met Police spokesperson told Nub News:

"Police were called at 16:41hrs on Tuesday, 9 March to reports of a body in the water at Burnell Avenue, near Teddington Lock.

"Police attended. The body of a man was recovered from the water.

"He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"At this time, the death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious."

An witness down by the lock also told Nub News:

"My dad was cycling and couldn't go any further because the river was closed off. He said there was lots of police and a forensics team.

"The body was right at the edge of the water so my dad assumed that's where it came from. He said the forensics were taking photos of the body by the water. It's terribly sad."
