Vulnerable, isolated residents and those classed as clinically extremely vulnerable will still be able to get emergency support over the Christmas period from the Council's Community Hub.

The Community Hub was set-up in March to co-ordinate the support being offered by the Council and Richmond's many voluntary organisations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since its launch, the Hub has taken thousands of calls from residents who do not have access to the internet. It is a first response for residents, particularly those elderly and/or vulnerable without support networks, who need support to access medical/care services and food supplies. It is designed to help those most in need stay safe and well while they self-isolate at home.

If you are vulnerable and need help, go online here.

If you do not have access to the internet, you can call the Hub for emergency issues over the Christmas period on 020 8871 6555.

The Hub will be open:

Christmas Eve: 9am – 2pm

Christmas Day: 10am – 3pm

Boxing Day: 10am – 3pm

Sunday 27th: 10am – 3pm

Monday 28th: 10am -3pm

Tuesday 29th: 9am – 5pm

Wednesday 30th: 9am – 5pm

Thursday 31st: 9am – 2pm

Friday 1st: 10am – 3pm

Saturday 2nd: 10am – 3pm

Sunday 3rd: 10am – 3pm

Cllr Gareth Roberts said:

"Now that the borough has moved into Tier 4, and shielding has been reintroduced for those who are extremely clinically vulnerable, we know that Christmas will be tough for many residents in the borough.

"We are determined that if emergency support is needed, those most in need will be able to access help over Christmas and New Year. If you need help over the next few weeks, please look at our online hub for information and if don't have the internet, pick up the phone, we have a team of volunteers and staff who are extremely willing to help.

"You are not alone and together we will get through this."
