IN PICTURES: Silver Linings’ May Bank Holiday festival at The Anglers

On Sunday (4 May) The Anglers was full to the brim with locals enjoying live music at Silver Linings' Live and Loud charity festival.

Kicking off at 4pm, the event started with Teddington School band, The Pixels, taking to the main stage in The Anglers' stunning beer garden and singing a variety of pop and rock songs from over the years.

Consisting of two female singers, one male singer, and a band of instrument players, The Pixels clearly already have a fan base at their young age as many punters took to the dance floor, swaying and singing along to the band's sweet melodies.
Next to the stage was The Stormflies starting their set with King's of Leon's 'Use Somebody', which again had everyone up dancing.
And finishing the live music part of the night was the wonderful The Process whose groovy beats were ideal for the setting of the sun.

Following this, at 8pm, attendees were invited inside onto the dancefloor for some hardcore boogying with tunes from Silver Linings Sound System as well as resident DJs and guests.
The festival was the perfect date for both adults and families as throughout the day, there was also a kids' headphone disco and face painting to keep the little ones entertained, and it was clear that everyone in attendance was having a great time.

One local resident said: "This is such a great event – great music, great drinks, great food, and great venue. I love The Anglers."

There was also a bubble man unleashing huge bubbles, which had the kids in awe.

Throughout the day The Anglers was serving food from its outdoor Beach Bar, including festival-style snacks, such as parmesan fries, and a variety of stone-baked pizzas.

Moreover, Gelato 4ever set up a stall selling some of the best gelato I have ever tried – and I have been to Italy.

Gelato 4ever's flavours included vanilla, mango, and pistachio, and you could have it in either a cone or a cup with optional sprinkles and a flake.
I tried vanilla and pistachio, and both were so delicious. The texture of the gelato was the perfect level of soft and creamy.

It truly was a wonderful day, and I cannot applaud the staff at The Anglers enough, keeping calm at all times and ensuring that punters were served in good time despite the crowds of people queueing for their next drink.
And to top it all off, all ticket proceeds went to Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
The Anglers is one of our lovely sponsors.
Without their community-minded sponsorship, we wouldn't be able to bring you local news free from overly-intrusive ads, pop-ups and clickbait.
