The Royal Parks today announced the re-opening of the main toilet block near the playground in Bushy Park after a three month closure during lockdown.

The decision follows the opening of the coffee kiosk in the Diana Fountain car park and The Pheasantry where coffee and pastries and a reduced menu is available.

Cars are still banned from Bushy Park and seven gates are closed overnight because of anti-social behaviour at Hampton Court Hill cricket club.

A spokesperson said:"A number of public toilets across our parks remain temporarily closed, but we are now in a position to gradually reopen them with additional public safety measures in place. Starting with the main toilet block in each park, the list of open facilities currently includes:

Hyde Park (Bandstand)

The Regent's Park (Chester Road)

Kensington Gardens (Marlborough Gate)

St. James's Park (Marlborough Gate)

Greenwich Park (Lower Avenue)

Richmond Park (Kingston Gate, Roehampton Gate, Sheen Gate, Richmond Gate)

Bushy Park (Playground)

The spokesperson added:"These will be used to evaluate options for opening other blocks across the parks in coming weeks.

"All childrens' playgrounds in the parks are now closed until further notice.

"In line with other precautions taken across the park the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain has been switched off and closed to the public.
