Teddington Choral Society Summer Concert is a Smash Hit

What an evening it was on July 18th 2020 for TCS!

After having to take the decision to cancel the summer concert the Teddington Choral committee decided that the evening should still be marked with a special event.

The idea was quick to come to premiere a live Youtube Virtual concert featuring all the 7 Virtual Projects in which TCS members took part.

This would allow to bring together all the members of the choir and enjoy the viewing as per a physical concert.

The committee decided that the last two virtual

projects would be kept secret until the concert date!

Some introductions and messages were prepared from Julian Collings (our MD) and Phil Culling (our accompanist) and members of the committee.

It has been an amazing evening with many members and also relatives and friends of the members joining online in UK and all around the world.

Up until now there has been a total of 489 views on youtube. With viewers in Italy, France, Sweden, Chile, Spain, Malaysia, Netherlands, Australia, USA, Thailand

and other countries.

One of the highlights of the evening was definitely the live exchange of comments between the members. There were some good laughs!

Everyone was very impressed by the performances level achieved and also by the technical quality of the end project.

Thank you:

â—Thank you to the Chairperson Rebecca Clarke who never finishes to surprise the choir with her challenging ideas and who manages (who

knows how!) to get there!

â—Thank you to Seamus Clarke who spent a tremendous amount of hours of work editing and finalising all these projects. They all look fantastic and the concert itself was perfect !

â—Thank you to The Musical Director, Julian Collings, for spending time recording himself while conducting and giving advice concerning the pieces' interpretation.

â—Thank you to Phil Culling our pianist for playing and recording all the piano parts and the accompaniment.

â—Thank you to Lucy Clarke who supported us with her swinging double bass

â—Thank you to our designer, Peter Moore, Choir member, who prepared all the art work for the Summer Virtual Concert.

Some of the positive feedback received :

"I thoroughly enjoyed it-a great effort and achievement from everyone who took part. I almost felt like I was back at choir! Let's hope it's not too long before we can all meet again. Have a lovely holiday; I'm off to the country for 3 weeks.God bless," Wendy, Soprano.

"BRAVO SINGERS! Thank you for a lovely summer concert," Tina, Alto

"Hi Thanks for an excellent concert last night. It was beautifully put together and I really appreciate the hard work you all put in to make it happen. Well done!!" Rene, Tenor

"Hi! I have so enjoyed listening to this. What a fantastic effort! This production will be a lasting record of all your fantastic work. Well done! I am so looking forward to choir restarting for real whenever that maybe and this

really whetted my appetite. Congratulations and all the best for the summer!" Mary, Alto

"Congratulations to the whole committee for managing to keep the choir engaged and (some of them) actually singing through this difficult time for everyone. I'm sure it has meant a huge amount to many people, and it's a

great credit to everyone involved that TCS managed to produce a summer concert. I bet not many amateur choral societies have achieved that. Thank you all for your hard work," Simon, Tenor

What's next now?

Well most probably another virtual project to consider from mid-August.

We hope to be back to our regular rehearsals on Monday evenings as soon as this will be allowed under the Government guidance.

In the mean time do check the website (www.teddingtonchoral.co.uk) and social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) to follow the choir's regular updates.
