ANOTHER local good cause has been helped thanks to the partnership between Teddington's popular Wharf restaurant and the community lottery, GET LUCKY LOCAL.

The riverside restaurant invited diners to donate an additional 1 pound to their bills for the month of September and then generously matched the donation to buy tickets for the lottery.

£693 has now been donated to the Richmond-based Victoria Foundation, which aims to transform the lives of local children and young people through grants.

Lorna Votier, from the Victoria Foundation, said: "Thank you so much for this truly fantastic donation of £693 and more which will help to transform lives.

"The Victoria Foundation is so grateful to the Wharf and its customers for their fantastic support during September.

"We rely on donations like these to be able to provide vital medical support, equipment and assistance to those in great need in our community.

"We would also like to thank Get Lucky Local for all your support for TVF and many other charities across the borough which is making such a big difference to so many."

The owner of The Wharf, Barbara Spain said: "We consider ourselves to be at the heart of the community and we are delighted that we can do our little bit to support good causes in the borough."

The GET LUCKY LOCAL lottery was launched last November and is raising over £50,000 a year for Good Causes.

61 community projects across Richmond borough are now signed up.

The lottery teamed up with The Wharf in May to offer diners the chance to support local causes.

This month Wharf customers will be invited to support the independent living charity Ruils.

Other charities that have been supported by the partnership include Teddington Theatre Club, Hearts of Teddlothian FC and Teddington Cricket Club.

We look forward to seeing what local cause is supported next!
