On the 15th and 16th of August a charity bike ride is taking place to cycle nearly 14,000 KM from London to Cape Town in just two days!

However the organisers need your help!

Obviously it is impossible to actually cycle that distance in two days so organisers Njinga Cycling want people to go ride around their local area and rack up the miles to reach the huge target.

Here's what they have said about the event:

"Covid-19 has impacted every one of us, whether physically, mentally or financially. We wanted to help support those who have been severely affected by the pandemic and desperately need our help.

"No matter what your current cycling ability is, join us to help raise funds for our two incredible charities, Shooting Star Children's Hospice and Gift of the Givers.

"Simply commit to ride as far as you can and help to contribute towards the total distance we will be virtually cycling between Shooting Star Hospice in Hampton, UK to Gift of the Givers in Cape Town, South Africa.

"Join us on the 15th and 16th August on a road bike, a mountain bike, a Brompton or even a stationary indoor bike and help us reach our team target of 13, 636 km."

So how do you sign up? It couldn't be simpler than clicking the link HERE and signing up.

The target is for each person to raise £100 once signed up for the ride.

Njinga Cycling are particularly keen for people who are already riding on that weekend to sign up - it means that your Saturday or Sunday cycle could be of real benefit to some worthwhile charities.

Riders are also encouraged to donate the value of their post ride cake and coffee to the two great charities.

Shooting Star Hospice is a vital service for children with terminal illnesses and with just 10% of its funding coming from the government so it is always relying on public help.

Gift of the Givers also do vital work in South Africa in feeding the hungry and are a truly worthwhile cause.

Njinga Cycling are a training and coaching business but have also took part in a number of other charity fundraisers, such as an annual Santa ride for Shooting Star.
