GALLERY: beautiful blooms go on display at Hampton Court Palace for first ever tulip festival
Gorgeous and rare tulips are now on display at Hampton Court Palace as part of its first festival dedicated to the flower.
Kingston resident Izabella Hajnal captured these stunning photos of tulips in the sunshine on her visit to the palace yesterday.
Blooms on display at the festival include historical tulips from the Dutch Hortus Bulborum and handmade replicas of Mary II's tulip vases. These can be seen at the palace's Lower Orangery.
The palace's formal gardens are also filled with colourful varieties of the blooms and with warmer weather forecast for next week, now is the perfect time to see tulips at the palace.
The festival runs until May 3 this spring. Tickets are included in palace admission and members go free.
Please note that Hampton Court Palace and gardens are closed today as a mark of respect for HRH Prince Philip.
