First service takes place at St Mary with St Alban in Teddington

By The Editor 5th Nov 2021

A local church in Teddington was back open for their first in person service in months on Sunday.

St Mary with St Alban, located opposite The Landmark Arts Centre, have been conducting Zoom services through the pandemic.

However after finally getting the green light to go ahead with an in person service, the regular church-goers were delighted to be back.

Our resident photographer Sue Lindenberg was there and took these pictures of what is now the new normal - going to church in a mask.

Hymn singing is not yet permitted due to fears that this could spread the virus more quickly and the congregation were stood at two meters apart from one another.

The church are still carrying on with much of their digital worship including more zoom services and their podcast.

£9,000 has also been raised by the church's online collection plate and Vicar Joe Moffatt thanked the community for the generosity.

However the church would need to raise around £60,000 to completely cover their lockdown losses.
