The Landmark Arts Centre is the beating heart of the community in Teddington which is why it is terrific news that it is reopening very soon!

We brought this news to you last week, which you can view again HERE, but there have now been further developments.

The lineup for the Summer Arts Salon, which takes place on the 7th-9th, 14th-16th and 21st to 23 of August.

The purpose of the event will be to showcase 40 local artists, many pf whom were due to take part in the Landmark's Spring Art Fair which was cancelled because of the pandemic.

The Salon will be a chance to browse and buy original artwork in a wide range of media including printmaking, painting, sculpture, photography, jewellery.

As well as this local arts showcase artists from the Surrey Sculpture Society will be showing and selling works outside in The Landmark's woodland garden.

Artists include:

Angela Brittain: a contemporary abstract impressionist painter who works intuitively with colour and movement.

Richmond based printmaker Nicky Browne: who draws and prints local buildings, and trees and recently, she completed a new print of the Landmark building.

Anjali B. Purkayastha: an artist specialising in ink drawings inspired by Indian folk art. Her work is beautiful, often abstract and exquisitely intricate.

Teddington artist Stephen Doak: creates large collage pieces made using recycled paper glued to card. He is selling his wonderful piece of Strawberry Hill House with 100% of the profit towards our Save the Landmark campaign – thank you Stephen!

Rachel Newton: a self taught abstract painter living and working in Middlesex, who uses a variety of media, mainly acrylics, gesso and metal leaf to create atmospheric and deceptively understated pieces often on a large scale. Viewing her work at the Landmark you'll be able to see the full depth and texture of her work.

Jim Woodman's work is noted for its use of strong, vibrant colours that imbue stark landscapes with warmth and intensity. His inspiration is the landscape, which he paints in oils and watercolours; he also paints the Thames and its environs in London.
