Are these the first blooming daffodils of the year?
Early morning walkers and cyclists in Home Park, Hampton Court Palace were stopped in their tracks today (Sunday) with the first sight of blooming daffodils, just on the right hand side of the main entrance gates.
One admirer told Teddington Nub News: "I come here every day and they weren't here yesterday."
Regular Home Park cyclists and nature lovers Mike and Rob were so impressed they dismounted from their cycles to capture the stunning images of the flowers, thought to be wild daffodils, also known as Lent lily or trumpet narcissus.
Visitors to Hampton Court Palace can usually take in the view of a sea of thousands of daffodils inside the gardens near The Maze in late January or early February but the beautiful vision will be left unseen at the moment as the Palace is closed because of COVID.
