The role

We need an experienced finance professional to be the trusted finance partner to our managing director. You will take ownership of day-to-day financial management, monthly reporting and statutory compliance across our UK and European entities.

An administrator handles transaction uploads to Xero, coding and bank statement downloads, and our CFO makes the strategic decisions. That leaves you free to focus on reconciliation, analysis, reporting and some planning input.

What you will doEvery week

• Manage purchase ledgers on Xero across multiple entities, with accurate nominal, project & company coding
• Carry out weekly bank reconciliations across entities and currencies
• Update the weekly cashflow across multiple currencies
• Respond to supplier and customer and internal accounting queries

Every month

• Run monthly payroll on Xero, including PAYE/RTI and auto-enrolment pensions
• Carry out monthly bank reconciliations and prepare monthly reporting and analysis for the CFO and managing director
• Support the management team in planning currency conversion strategies and payment runs

Each quarter and year

• Prepare and submit UK VAT returns and prepare EU VAT (Bi-monthly)
• Prepare year-end accounts and liaise with our CFO and external accountants
• Maintain compliance with all financial administration, policies and procedures

What we are looking forEssential

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) strongly preferred. Part-qualified candidates will be considered only with substantial relevant experience
• At least 5 years in a management accounting or financial controller role
• Advanced Xero user with proven experience managing multi-entity accounts
• Multi-currency and intercompany accounting experience
• UK VAT and EU VAT experience
• PAYE, RTI and pension administration
• Year-end accounts experience
• Intermediate or better Excel
• Sound knowledge of UK accounting regulations and compliance
• Able to work in our Kew office (this is not a remote or hybrid role)
