Calling all budding journalists!

Come along to our fun taster session with experienced creative writing teacher Janette Simpson. Young writers aged 9 to 11 will have the opportunity to explore the exciting world of journalism.

In this two and a half hour session , the trainee journalists will have the opportunity to create questions, interview a local resident with a story to tell, learn how to structure a newspaper article and finally write an individual piece. They will also be given top tips for taking the perfect photograph to accompany their article.

Lots of juice, water and homemade cake are included.

Janette Simpson is an experienced primary school teacher and popular writing coach, who has led many creative writing workshops with both adults and children. Participant numbers are kept deliberately low (maximum 8) to ensure that everyone has plenty of opportunities to contribute and to ask questions.
