It's Happening Now: How Can We Confront The Climate Crisis?

Landmark Arts Centre

UNTIL Sunday 7th November

A Richmond Literature Festival Event.

Human behaviour is destroying the planet, but the future isn't yet beyond repair. Expert climate campaigners Jonathon Porritt and Dr Alice Bell discuss how we got here and what we can do, even now, to confront the climate crisis.

Jonathon Porritt, author of Hope in Hell, has decades of experience as a campaigner and is an eminent commentator on sustainable development. He is co-founder of Forum for the Future, a former director of Friends of the Earth and former co-chair of the Green Party. Hope in Hell asks us, in the wake of the pandemic, to promote economic recovery in a way that addresses the climate emergency.

Campaigner and former academic Alice Bell co-runs the climate change charity Possible. Her book Our Biggest Experiment: A History of the Climate Crisis chronicles the history of our understanding of climate change. Our ancestors have left us an almighty mess, but also tools for survival.
