UNTIL Sunday 22nd October

Watercolour Pumpkins & Gourds

Celebrate autumn and pumpkin season by joining us for the latest in our series of watercolour painting workshops with experienced local teacher and professional artist Karen Iredale Lucas, this time focussing on the art of colour mixing.

In this informative and relaxing Sunday morning workshop, Karen will start by demonstrating how to use basic line drawing techniques to create a still life of pumpkins and gourds.

You'll then be shown how to mix and apply colours to your drawing. Techniques covered during the class will include wet on wet, dry brush technique and finding light using colour to create form.

Karen will then guide you as you work on your own paintings, with participant numbers kept deliberately low to ensure everyone has plenty of opportunities for help and to ask any questions they may have. By the end of the class, everyone will have an original watercolour art work to take home.

The class is suitable for both beginners and for those with more experience wanting to improve their painting skills. It's also a great follow-on for attendees of Karen's watercolour classes earlier in the year.

We'll provide the paper, brushes and paints, together with lots of tea, coffee and homemade cake, but please feel free to bring along your own set of watercolour paints and brushes if you'd prefer.

"Enjoyable, relaxing watercolour art session. Would definitely recommend. Good demonstrations with plenty of time to complete"

"It was perfect. Equipment great. Great cake! Lots of support given"
