Description: This workshop invites participants to explore sound, melody and rhythm through creative making and abstract expression. Responding to music through line, texture, colour, signs and symbols, participants will experiment with translating feeling and emotion into visual form using a range of abstract art techniques. Guided by listening, observation and intuitive mark-making, the session encourages playful exploration and personal creative response in a supportive environment. By the end of the workshop, participants will have created their own abstract art piece inspired by music, atmosphere and movement.
Materials Required:
Students are encouraged to bring stationary items such as pencils, erasers and A4 sheets of paper.
Tutor Bio:
Shuk-Fan Wong is an internationally exhibiting artist whose work explores rhythm, identity and cultural expression through a dialogue between Western and Chinese artistic traditions. Her practice draws on extensive knowledge of both theoretical and practical approaches to art and culture, shaping work that is thoughtful, expressive and interdisciplinary. Alongside her artistic practice, Fan has taught Visual Arts and Culture at university level for many years, combining academic insight with hands-on creative exploration. Her workshops encourage curiosity, experimentation and cultural exchange, creating welcoming environments where participants can develop confidence, creative skills and personal expression through making.
