This World Suicide Prevention Day (10 September 2020), Richmond Council, Public Health and the NHS are encouraging residents to complete the Zero Suicide Alliance's 3-step online Suicide Prevention Training, which takes just 20 minutes, as well as signposting residents to mental health support services.

Every 40 seconds, a person somewhere in the world takes their own life. World Suicide Prevention Day aims to raise awareness of how we can create a world where fewer people die by suicide.

Munira Wilson MP

Munira Wilson, MP for Twickenham, has demanded the Prime Minister explains his "brazen hypocrisy" given his Government's readiness to break international law with the Internal Market Bill, while expecting "everybody in this country to obey the law."

The accusation follows an exchange at Prime Minister's Questions today where Munira Wilson MP asked "If Ministers think it is acceptable for this Government to not obey the law, how on earth can the Prime Minister expect the public at home to do so?"

The Diana Fountain in Bushy Park

Richmond Council are seeking reassurances about the introduction of parking charges at Bushy and Richmond Park.

As part of the Council's formal response to the Royal Parks, it will be requesting financial assistance towards possible consultations on the introduction/amendment of Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ) to ensure that nearby residential roads can be protected from any displaced parking.
