Whether you're reading this in bed or wishing you were in it, in between hymns in church, waiting for your turkey dinner, before your next turn at monopoly, or slumped in front of the telly- Merry Christmas!

I'll be whizzing through various northern cities throughout the festive week visiting family. Current schedule looks like Warrington, Hull, Leeds and Blackpool- maybe a cheeky dip in the sea on New Year's day!

I hope you are able to spend some quality time with your loved ones- as well as remembering the ones who didn't make it to Christmas 2023.

Often the pressures and expectations are too high around Christmas: having the most beautiful tree, the ideal menu, the finest wine, buying the perfect present or looking your best. Rather, remember Christmas doesn't last for ever. Give yourself some time to escape from it all if you need a moment.

As the great Richard Osman said, if you can't have a happy Christmas, I hope it is a peaceful one.

I've nearly hit the golden six month mark at Nub News- almost through the probation period!- and what a time it's been. From writing breaking news, interviewing for features, interviews, to finishing my MA dissertation on local news, Teddington has been at the heart of it all.

Although I'll be having a wee break over the Christmas period, Nub News will be posting an article a day to keep you entertained and informed.

Watch out for the five most read stories from 2023 (you'll be suitably disturbed to find that most of them was related to crime, so I left that bit out)!
