A rowing club in Teddington is celebrating its outstanding performances in regattas over the summer so far.

Walbrook Rowing Club , based on Trowlock Way, has achieved national success at both the National Schools Regatta (NSR) - the largest event for juniors in Great Britain - and the prestigious Henley Regatta.

At the NSR, held at the end of May 2021, club members Holly Youd placed 4th and Stan Andrews placed 8th.

Anna Cowell also came second in the U16s event at the Junior Sculling Regatta, known as The Scullery, over the same weekend - and other members of the junior squad also made the A and B finals.

Meanwhile, Walbrook rowers Holly Youd and Natasha Gallagher gave outstanding performances in their races to at Henley in June.

The duo took the Rosie Mayglothling Trophy for double sculls.

This is the second time in the club's 60-year-history that they have won an event at Henley Women's Regatta.

About Walbrook Rowing Club

Founded in 1961, Walbrook Rowing Club is the first rowing club on the non-tidal stretch of Thames.

Its rowers use the four mile stretch of water up to Molesey Lock, taking in both Kingston and Hampton Court.

The club describes this as "one of the prettiest and safest stretches of the Thames."

It is also the stretch of water where the annual Teddington Head race is held - this year's event will be in November 2021.

The club has a diverse membership with active junior and senior sections, and they welcome new members.
