Thirty new affordable homes and a new nursery building will be built in Teddington on a former Council owned site, following approval from the Planning Committee.

Last week (7 October), the Planning Committee agreed to the demolition of existing buildings on the site to be replaced with 30 homes in total (6 x1 bedroom, 17 x 2 bedroom & 7 x 3 bedroom properties); the creation of a new nursery building for the existing nursery service, provision of 36 parking spaces; and environmental improvements including landscaping, communal amenity space and secure cycle storage.

Local MP Munira Wilson

Munira Wilson, MP for Twickenham and Teddington, questioned the Prime Minister on the actions the Government are taking to resolve a technical glitch in the Test and Trace system that is leading to an inflated number of Covid-19 cases registered in Richmond-upon-Thames.

Many university students who have tested positive for Covid-19 are having their testing data registered at their home address rather than their university address. This technical glitch is estimated to have affected about a quarter of new cases in Richmond-upon-Thames.

Teddington Churches St. Mary with St. Alban and St. Peter and St Paul in partnership with the two local NHS Primary Care Networks and disability charities Ruils and Richmond Aid, have launched a community café, designed to bring people together and give those feeling anxious or isolated, the opportunity for a friendly chat alongside local advice and information.

The café, which opened on 5th October, will run weekly at St Peter and St Paul's Church, Teddington on Monday afternoons, 1.30pm to 4.30pm.
