Nub News has TWO PAIRS of tickets to give away to four lucky readers for next month's highly anticipated Queen's Reading Room Festival.
Set in the stunning grounds of Hampton Court Palace, the literary event will gather authors, experts, actors and literature lovers for a day celebrating the written word on Sunday 11 June.
The four winners will get the chance to explore the Palace on literary themed tours and tread the floors where Shakespeare once performed with his King's Men; wander the sumptuous gardens bursting with life in summer; listen to poetry read by some of the country's finest actors, and enjoy shows from the festival's headliners, including: Dame Judi Dench, Gyles Brandreth, Dame Harriet Walter, Philippa Gregory, Ben Macintyre and Ken Follett.
Vikki Perrin, chief executive of the Queen's Reading Room, said: "The Queen is so passionate about books and sharing reading recommendations', adding that whenever she went to see her she would be 'sitting in an armchair literally surrounded by books.
"We hope that this is the start of something really special that will grow, rather than just a one-off."
To be in with a chance of attending the inaugural festival for free, simply register your interest at [email protected]. The winners will be announced next week.
The Queen's Reading Room is a charity which works to provide opportunities for the appreciation of literature among adults and children in the UK and around the world.
The charity launched on Instagram in 2021 during lockdown with reading recommendations from Her Majesty Queen Camilla.
So far, the organisation has ran eight series containing four books from across the genres with additional background and insight from the authors, academics and experts with the aim of enriching the readers experience.
Book enthusiasts are able to find all of Queen Camilla's recommendations on The Queen's Reading Room website and explore each individual series and author interviews.
The Queen's Reading Room Festival has been co-produced with Historic Royal Palaces the independent charity that cares for Hampton Court Palace.
All proceeds from the event will go towards the two charities and their ongoing work. For more information on The Queen's Reading Room Festival, including talks and readings that will be taking place throughout the day, visit the link here.
