The Madness of George III at Hampton Hill Theatre

Before there was Hamilton there was The Madness of George III  - Alan Bennett at his very best giving a new insight to a key period of history. King George III is becoming increasingly erratic after losing the American colonies and doctors are brought in to cure his madness. All of them are eminently respectable and one is in the employ of the Prince to Wales, a man with a strong motive for easing the king further into madness. When the King recovers with the aid of a country doctor, a constitutional crisis is averted.

First performed by the Royal National Theatre of Great Britain with Nigel Hawthorne as the King and most recently performed at the Nottingham Playhouse with Mark Gattiss in the leading role.

Produced by Teddington Theatre Club.

Poptastic 80's at Teddington's Constitutional Club

Did you: Sport a mullet or a curly perm? Solve the Rubik's Cube? Dance to the Birdie Song, Agadoo & Superman? Go to Heaven with the New Romantics?

If so, put on your neon lycra, ra-ra skirt, leg warmers or shoulder pads; big up your hair, and join DJ's "Disco Sue" and "Markus" playing the best vinyl records to a friendly (if slightly worn out) bunch of party people reliving their youth, who are old enough to know better - or just prop up the bar and enjoy the great music…

No attitudes. Reasonably priced drinks. Good public transport links. Easy parking.

Bookbinding for beginners

In this fascinating workshop, you'll be introduced to the fundamentals of bookbinding, using traditional skills and techniques to create your own bespoke hard backed notebook to take home with you.

During the class, you will be taught how to use a range of traditional tools and materials and shown how to prepare and stitch pages. You will then cut boards and cover them with either bookbinding cloth or decorative paper, in order to create a beautiful hard cover finish for your book.

This workshop is suitable for all levels, as no prior experience of bookbinding is required.
