LOOKING for something to do in the Teddington area on Friday night and this weekend? Here are our picks of the week.
Music in Teddington and the surrounds
Plenty of great bands are playing at venues in Teddington and nearby Hampton this weekend, so we've picked three gigs that we think look great and will be bound to get you up and dancing.
On Saturday night, the 10-piece soul group 'Frank The Cat' will play the Hampton Hub Club - the entertainment branch of the Hampton Inspired Hub community centre and home to a range of gigs from jazz to rock to tribute acts.
Frank The Cat, led by soulful vocalist Roy Gayle, specialise in covers of your favourite soul and Motown hits - James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Earth Wind & Fire and much more.
Tickets are £10 and can be booked by emailing [email protected], or on Eventbrite, though booking fees apply. Find out more HERE
If you're looking for a gig closer to home then head to the Teddington Arms tomorrow night (4 March).
The pub will be hosting the Twickenham acoustic duo/trio, The Forty Fives - a band which specialises in classic tunes by a range of artists, from The Beatles to George Ezra.
They are set to perform at 8.30pm and there's no need to book tickets for this one.
If you'd still like to see them this weekend but can't make Friday, the group will be playing The Ram in Kingston on Saturday night.
That gig will start at 8pm but there's also no need to book.
Finally, local band Rhythm Nation will be playing a gig at Hampton's Royal Oak pub tomorrow.
The pub on Oak Avenue just off Broad Lane is well-known for its music, hosting jam sessions on Monday nights and live acts on Fridays and Saturdays.
Rhythm Hill are a five-piece band for whom playing music is "a labour of love."
"We play the best cover versions of some of your favourite rock, soul, funk and disco," they say.
Tomorrow's event starts at 8.30pm and admission past 9pm costs £2. Find out more about the pub HERE
