LOOKING for something to do in Teddington this weekend? Here are our picks of the weekend's events:
SATURDAY: Thames Philharmonia at the Landmark Arts Centre
Thames Philharmonia is one of London's leading amateur orchestras with a reputation for adventurous, high quality concerts.
Our soloist is Eun-A Kim, performing Chopin Piano Concerto No.1. Eun-A has kindly replaced her colleague Yeseul Kim, who is now expecting a baby.
Also in the programme is Beethoven's Egmont Overture and Mendelssohn's 3rd, the Scottish Symphony.
The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £17 advance, £18 on the door. £15 LAC members and £5 under-16s.
FRIDAY: Gary Stewart's Graceland at the Landmark Arts Centre
Legendary troubadour Gary Stewart (Gary Stewart Band / Hope and Social) and his incredible 6-piece band recreate Paul Simon's landmark Graceland album in all its glory.
Expect to hear those magical songs, with their captivating stories, distinctive harmonies and South African rhythms brought to life in front of you with no detail spared; from the layers of guitars and percussion, right down to the legendary bass solos and maybe even some token dance moves – if you're lucky!
Let the singing, dancing and nostalgia take hold and pretend you're basking under the hot summer sun in Zimbabwe.
The concert starts at 8pm. Tickets are £18 advance and £20 on the door.
[h3]SUNDAY: CAK and Teddington Society Presents: L'ELISIR D'AMORE LIVE! at the Langdon Down Centre.
A family concert with a screening of Donizetti's 'L'elisir d'amore', live performances and a fun, interactive singing workshop for kids!
Citizen Artists Kids is born from the friendship between two mothers and opera lovers.
Sonia, one of the UK's most sought-after-up-and-coming opera conductors and Claire, skilled cellist who chose a career in business and project development had been looking into sharing in an accessible and fun way their love for opera with their children, so they founded Citizen Artists Kids!
The concert takes place on Sunday 13th March at 3:30pm for 45 mins. Tickets are £7 for adults, £5 for children.
