There are many great reasons to live in Teddington - the river, the high street and the parks.

However perhaps the one downside of the area is the lack of tube station.

Indeed surrounding Kingston, Hampton, Surbiton and Twickenham all are lacking a tube station too.

However a new map produced by Mike Bell shows what the area might be like if it had its own tube map!

Centring on Teddington Station the map features six lines and stops at places such as The Teddington Arms and Udney Park.

The map finishes in the North East at Feltham Station and Surbiton in the South West.

Plus there is an exclusive members only line around Fulwell Golf Club.

The tube map is of course not 100% geographically accurate but that is also the case with the real life tube map produced by Transport for London.

Mike has designed a number of tube maps for other areas without the luxury of having a tube system.

The likes of Guildford and Hampshire have all featured.

Here is why Mike started the project:

"I have always wondered what would the world look like if each town, county, place, well anywhere, had a tube map...

"During Lockdown (when my live show design work evaporated), to relieve my lack of creative briefs (and a shortage of deadlines), I took a local town (Lewes, UK) and applied my tube line thoughts.

"Each new underground line was named (in this case after local bonfire societies), and then the identity of the town reflected in station names and routes.

"I have now worked my way around the UK, and continue to do so, identifying places that could do with a better transport solution. I work in a few extra stops along the way!"

Plus Mike also has a 'plot lines' series in which each tube line represents a character with individual 'stops' on the development of the plot.

So far he has plotted out 'Jaws' and 'Dirty Dancing'.
