Westcombe Group received a decision in from the Borough of Richmond-upon-Thames to redevelop the former Kingston University student accommodation block, into 70 apartments.

This followed the Council's planning committee approving the planning application in December 2023.

Since obtaining planning permission, Westcombe has been approached by a number of hotel operators, about the opportunity to deliver a boutique hotel at Kingston Bridge House.

Thus, Westcombe Group is now exploring the opportunity to deliver a revised mixed-use scheme, providing hotel accommodation whilst still delivering much-needed homes and increasing the level of affordable housing than the four units which were approved previously by 150%.

Westcombe Group believe its "revised proposals strike the right balance between providing much needed housing in Richmond, alongside helping boost the local economy and reviving the southern end of Hampton Wick High Street".

However, Westcombe Group wants to hear your views before making any decisions as it is now at the stage to present its new proposals for Kingston Bridge House

Your feedback and local insight will be considered as part of its plans where possible, when submitted.

Kamal Pankhania, Group Chief Executive of Westcombe Group, said: "We have been encouraged by the feedback we have received to date from our public consultation for Kingston Bridge House, which strike a careful balance between delivering much-needed new homes, including affordable housing, and revitalising the southern end of Hampton Wick High Street through the addition of a high-quality hotel.

"We have sought to engage with local groups, local businesses, councillors and the public through in-person and virtual events and encourage others to submit their feedback on our plans before Monday."

Westcombe Group is holding two public consultation events where you will be able to view its detailed plans and ask questions with the project team.

Further details for these events can be found on the Have your say page.

The consultation will run until Monday 7 October at 7:00pm.
