Closures for the footbridges at Teddington Lock have been confirmed by Richmond Council.

With the improvement works "continuing at pace" the council will be completing the waterproofing and resurfacing of the two footbridges in September.

To do this, the council must close the footbridges overnight from 8pm to 6am Monday to Friday from 16 to 20 September and again Monday to Friday from 23 to 27 September.

The local authority says construction of the new Ferry Road approach ramp is "progressing well".

It said it wants to "limit the disruption to commuters and schools".

Another weekend closure will be needed in October to attach the new permanent ramp and remove the temporary ramp.
